Those are great news Dennis! It looks like your endeavours have started to bear fruit! :tummarupp:

Hopefully, the other poster, aliahmed, will have the same luck as you with Dalarna. And as a bonus, all the information you've provided here regarding your journey will be useful for other EU graduates interested in practicing in Sweden.
Please, do continue to keep us posted on your progress!

Best of luck :tur:

Hej..sorry for the abscence.
Actually i am still waiting for the license.its been around 2 months since i sent them (socialstyrelsen) my documents.
I have started learning swedish language as well and its going good so far..most difficult part is the pronounciation.
Dennis31 Please can you give me the email address of Dalarna county (the place where you asked about job and language requirments)..
Did they tell you that after getting the license you can apply for job (ST) even if your language skills are not upto required standard (b2)?
Thanks.

@aliahmed
Here (http://www.ltdalarna.se/en/Start/Career/Vacancies/) is the link for the website, you just have to click on Show contact and you will find there the e-mail addresses you need. I don't think you can apply for a job without having at least a B2 level.

Regarding the language level, I am a little bit worried. I really made a progress since September, but my biggest concern remains the Listening part of learning Swedish. Even after these months of studying Swedish, I don't seem to fully understand what is being talked in a longer discussion. This worries me a bit, considering that I want to choose Psychiatry, in which the discussion is the main diagnosing tool. I would really like to know how other people dealt with similar issues. Tack!

Regarding the listening part,i watch Swedish national television channel,,but it is really dificult to undetsand everything i just get few words.
Right now i am taking classes at folkuniversity ,,i try to listen to what people are talking in train or buses but again same problem,,moreover they speak very fast..
you can listen to the conversation given in the book called RIVSTART..since this is the book they are teaching in folkuniversity.

@Dennnis31 and @aliahmed
It is great to hear that you both are making some progress in regarding your Swedish language skills!

I'd though I'd share an article stumbled across, about Torsby sjukhus in the County of Värmland. The hospital has much experience with recruiting physicians from EU-countrys, and even has its own Swedish language teacher (articles in Swedish)

http://www.sjukhuslakaren.se/vi-ar-som- ... t-blandat/
http://www.sjukhuslakaren.se/lilla-tors ... nsklarare/

My point is that you may interest and benefit both of you to send the County of Värmland an email, asking if they might be interested in employing you and what language learning services they might offer.

http://www.liv.se/Jobb-utbildning-och-f ... althstaff/
Up in the right corner thers a yellow bar with the vords "Visa Kontakt"; clikc on that and two email adresses to the HR-staff will appear.

@aliahmed, regarding your license, Socialstyrelsen may take up to 3 months to process your application, and it's also holiday-season, so hang in there!

Best of luck :tur:

@aliahmed
Surely you have already asked yourself the following questions, and just forgotten how usable they are due to all the excitement in the possibility of practicing medicine in Värmland. :blinkar:

- Why do you want to come to Sweden and work as a doctor?
- What benefits can you see in working at a smaller hospital?
- Do you wish to pursue a career at a smaller hospital or a university hospital?
- Do you see any possible benefits with the fact that they have experience with hiring non-Swedish speakers staff? What benefits and why?

Just be honest and be yourself, and it will surely work out for the best.

Good luck :tur:

hello, I am a medical student at Saint George's University of London at Nicosia campus (Cyprus). I'm an Non-EU citizen and looking forward to start my AT internship in Sweden after graduation in 2017. I will start Swedish lessons in Feb. I was wondering if it's possible to get more information about Non-EU citizens with an EU medical degree (about working visa, right to stay in Sweden). Aliahmed you wrote you're a non-EU so it would be great if you can share your experience it would be very helpful, and if possible to contact you personally if you don't mind.
Thank you
